About Metro

METRO is the ideal, all occasion band. Featuring the dynamic lead singer, Rachelle Byrne, Metro specializes in dance music of all types. Formerly known as "Tell Mama," the group started out as a soul revue in the classic sense, performing blazing versions of tunes by James Brown, Sly and the Family Stone, Aretha Franklin, and Otis Redding. METRO's repertoire includes current hits, New Orleans style R&B, and, of course, lots of rock, country, and blues hits.

METRO is based in Sonoma County, California, just north of San Francisco. It's members have played together for more than ten years. A consistent favorite at clubs like Lou's Pier 47 (San Francisco) and Ashkenaz (Berkeley), METRO also appeared weekly at The Villa in Santa Rosa for five years. METRO has performed for corporate clients like Fox Entertainment, Wells Fargo Bank, KNTI Radio and KPIX TV, as well as in many bay area clubs and night spots. The musicians in METRO are versatile, knowledgeable players. They are accomplished in a variety of styles of popular music, able to captivate any crowd. What METRO does best is rock the house, but METRO also plays jazz standards, Top 40, and Texas and Chicago style blues. They can even play a country waltz or a two step! METRO plays everything with a style and conviction that keeps audiences coming back for more.
